Reports to the Estimating Director and Vice President of Operations to provide consultation for project and subcontractor selections.
Deep understanding of construction contracts, plans, specifications, construction methods and schedules on design build projects.
Strong skills in design, constructability, and project management, as well as knowledge in construction practices for various engineering disciplines including structural, architectural, heavy-civil, and mechanical.
Ability to identify design flaws, potential risks, and change order opportunities during the Estimating and Pre-Construction Phases of a Project.
Participates in the project selection process through scope review and project analysis.
Participates in the subcontractor and vendor selection process through vetting to include company profile and status, scope reviews, capability reviews, staffing and schedule reviews.
Provides oversight between the client, the construction project manager, and the many subcontractors to make sure a construction project proceeds safely, accurately, and smoothly.
Technical interfacing with the client, PM/CM team, designer, builder, subcontractors.
Keep the client, Vice President of Operations, Project Manager, and construction team, routinely informed of the review status and all developments that impact schedule, cost, safety and reputation through regular reporting.
Design and construction coordination.
Exchange information expeditiously and expedite deliverables.
Resolve design and construction issues.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of a Masters Degree/Bachelors Degree in Engineering required2. Ten plus years of design, design review, constructability review, contract oversight and management experience required in this capacity with projects of similar size and complexity.3. Specific skills and experience with military projects required.4. Strong engineering and technical writing skills required.5. Procore and Primavera scheduling software experience preferred.6.
