Full Job Description Position Overview:

Overall responsibility of managing the permitting process for the division and/or region including scheduling, pick-up and delivery and overall effectiveness of the process while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Maintains all permit tracking sheets, monitors trends in permit timing and informs applicable departments of changes to permit related costs and permit time frames. Applies for and receives all building permits within the time frame established by the pre-start process. Reviews the production schedule for permit due dates on a daily basis and follows-up accordingly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages the timely preparation and submission of individual lot Building Permits Manages all permit submittals. Plan preparation. Supports the department with administrative duties as needed. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Comfort reading construction docs:

plans, site plans, energy calcs, truss engineering, etc. Responsible for division check requests. Responsible for management of division credit card. Responsible for remittance of all permitting related bill.

Field Assistance:

Managing field revisions; paying fees. Assisting the Division President monthly with starts forecasts. Responsible for developing relationships with municipal officials. Responsible for coordinating with construction team on planned starts. Responsible for coordinating with land dept on timing of lot purchases. Responsible for coordinating with sales team on permit status. Responsible for coordinating with closing dept: Responsible for managing HOA approvals.

Scattered lot development:

Management of lot splits/ lot combos as needed. Understanding of grading engineering.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Excellent phone skills. Exceptional computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office and mastery of Excel, including creation and maintenance of intricate spreadsheets. Work Conditions/Physical Requirements Office Environment Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of time Must occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, and printer.
