The Construction Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery for site work, grading, excavation, and concrete-related activities on construction projects located between a designated market area. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, skilled with various types of construction equipment, and flexible with travel and changing job site locations. Safely operated construction equipment such as Excavators, Loaders, Skidsteers, Bulldozers, Compactors, Off Road Trucks Support tasks such as site grading, trenching, backfilling, and prepping foundations. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Transport equipment as needed (CDL is a plus). Follow safety protocols, job site rules, and supervisor instructions. Work closely with site supervisors, labor crews, and other equipment operators to ensure timely and accurate work. Maintain logs and communicate any equipment issues or job site hazards. Be willing and able to travel between job sites across southeast and central Florida. Good oral and written communication Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and professionally

Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and troubleshooting techniques. In depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) Possess in depth knowledge of building codes in South Florida Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals. Excellent problem-solving skills Attention to Detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Teamwork and Communication skills Self-motivator and proactive

Time Management Skills What We’re Looking For:

High school diploma or GED equivalent 5+ years of experience operating heavy construction equipment. Knowledge of laser-controlled grading equipment is a strong plus Knowledge of safe operation practices and job site safety standards (OSHA 10 or 30 preferred). Ability to read grade stakes, site plans, or follow layout markings (preferred). Willingness to travel between multiple Florida job sites, including occasional out-of-town stays. Valid driver’s license required; CDL a strong plus. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor as needed.

Work Environment and Hours:

Assigned work may vary Monday-Saturday 40+ hours a week Maintenance shop or work sites

Physical Demands:

Primarily field-based with travel between multiple construction sites. May include early mornings and occasional extended hours based on project demands. Extended periods of standing Extended periods of walking Field-based role; exposure to hot weather, noise, and dust. Requires early morning starts and occasional extended shifts.

Travel Required:

Travel regularly between job sites (Miami to Vero Beach). Periodically for training or repairs when necessary Travel is required throughout organization Travel provided or reimbursed for out-of-town projects.
