Full-Time Position Summary:
Shenandoah General Construction is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Specialty Division Manager to lead our Specialty Division. This role is focused on managing and growing our specialized services throughout Florida and other strategic geographical areas, which include conventional pipe replacement and repair (water, sewer, and storm drainage), slip lining, canal and lake bank restoration, as well as surface restoration including sidewalk, curbing, and asphalt repairs. In addition to overseeing field operations, this position is also responsible for project estimating, proposal development, and contributing to strategic growth. The Specialty Division Manager reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and plays a key role in ensuring operational excellence and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Division Leadership & Operations Lead day-to-day operations of the Specialty Division, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. Hire and Supervise field crews, foremen, and project management staff. Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance across all jobsites. Project Management Oversee execution of specialty projects including: Pipe replacement and repair (water, sewer, and storm systems) Slip lining and trenchless repairs Canal and lake bank restoration Sidewalk, curbing, and asphalt repair work Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain schedule and budget. Monitor job progress, resolve field issues, and ensure customer satisfaction. Project Estimating & Preconstruction Lead and support the estimating process for specialty division projects. Analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals. Work closely with the business development team and executive leadership on bid strategy. Work closely and collaborate with other branch offices on cross selling initiatives from Vac and CCTV inspection services. Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed. Client Relations & Business Development Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of a project. Build and maintain strong relationships with municipal, commercial, and private clients. Identify new opportunities and contribute to the growth of the division. Financial Oversight Develop and manage project budgets and divisional operating expenses. Track costs, forecast performance, and implement corrective actions when necessary. Contribute to the development of annual revenue goals and growth plans.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience). Minimum 7 years of experience in underground utilities, civil construction, or related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or estimating role. Strong working knowledge of specialty services including pipe repair/replacement, restoration, and trenchless technologies. Proven experience with project estimating, cost analysis, and bid preparation. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction management software Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
