Working Superintendents manage construction project and supervise day-to-day activities involved with a specific project. Supervises/leads a small team of construction crews for all trades including carpentry, drywall, HVAC, electric, plumbing and oversees project(s) to ensure that all courses of construction are always installed safely and per code with professional quality. Working supers will be able to install, maintain, and repair a variety of products and be able to actively participate in demo, framing, drywall, painting, carpentry & installing finishes. They read blueprints, coordinate with other trades and are familiar with and comply with local building codes. Experience in commercial construction in a healthcare environment needed.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

– Job duties include but are not limited to – Manage a team of workers, including work schedules, project progress and resource allocation Collaborate with clients, Project Managers, architect, and other construction management to determine budget and timeline. Communicate all aspects of the job with project managers, presenting problems and proposing solutions. Participate in project progress meetings. Manage materials and order, as needed, to keep the job moving & on budget. Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers Maintain a daily log of job site’s operations, worker timesheets, testing reports, safety meetings, materials ordered and delivered, etc. Ensure all work complies with local codes and company standards. Make changes in the operation as necessary to best meet construction deadlines Implement management techniques that are cost-effective and efficient Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must have 5 years’ experience in commercial construction and/or healthcare construction trades. Be in physical condition required to work, walk job daily, monitoring all phases of work. Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance issues Must have communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening. Great problem-solving and decision-making skills Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal setting and conflict management Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking Must have personal hand tools.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Experience in rough carpentry, finish carpentry & drywall. Familiarity with and comply with OSHA standards and company safety policies – OSHA 30 card is a plus. Ability to layout, rough in and finish out carpentry work, when needed. Ability to follow oral and or written directions and can calculate basic math problems/formulas. Ability to instruct and train unskilled workers in a safe manner. Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships.

Special Conditions of Employment:

MUST have a Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation with insurance, and provide own transportation to and from the jobsite as required for the work shift. MUST bring your own personal hand tools. MUST be able to work Monday-Friday 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM at a minimum. MUST constantly protect the interests of the company and promote its success.
