The location is based on wherever the current project is being constructed. Most of our
work is in Duval county, we will sometimes work in the surrounding Jacksonville areas
such as Nassau, Clay, and St. Johns counties. About IBI

impact on other businesses in our community. Job Description
This position is available to anyone that is interested in getting involved in the construction
industry and is willing to learn and grow within our company. We are looking for a
responsible, trustworthy individual that can adapt and solve problems. Our goal is to train
and educate our Field Assistants so they will have the skills and managerial abilities to
become a Superintendent, and run their own jobs. A Superintendent is the lead on-site
supervisor for a specific project. As a Field Assistant you will learn how to layout walls,
frame/hang/finish drywall, install backing, paint, install doors, door frames and hardware,
learn acoustical ceiling installation, coordinate subcontractors, learn to communicate with
building inspectors and owners. The Field Assistant works in unison and reports directly to the Superintendent. The onsite
team works with and is in constant communication with the Project Manager. This team
works together to actively manage the project until completion. It is understood that the
Field Assistant has the full resources and support of Interior Buildouts and that we see this
position as an extension of our entire team and office. With that in mind, this position must
use best judgment and discretion in decisions and professionalism. We view an active
construction site the same as our headquarters office – and expect this mentality from the
entire field team. Duties and Responsibilities of this position

  • Maintaining a clean, safe and secure job-site.
  • Submit bi-weekly time sheets, with an understanding of cost codes.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Injury-Free Environment through own actions and
    mentoring others.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify any job site hazards
    immediately.
  • Identify potential issues and solve problems or provide realistic solutions for issue or
    problem(s) to Project Management Team to maintain construction schedule.
  • Unload materials, prepare worksites, clean debris, and execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Come to work dressed in durable clothing and safety shoes or boots. Maintain a clean
    appearance.
  • Understand building emergency systems for each project (valve and breaker shut-offs
    for plumbing, fire sprinkler systems, electrical, fire alarm, and security panels)
  • Assist with daily construction related activities.
  • Supervise and watch over the job-site while the Superintendent is not present. This
    includes meeting with building inspectors to ensure we pass inspection and
    communicating with the subcontractors, superintendent and project manager.
  • Consistently arrive to work on time and help organize and close down the job-site at the
    end of each workday. About You
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
  • You have at a minimum: High School Diploma/GED
  • You are a strong in communication skills both as well as strong in organization skills
  • You are customer service oriented and believe customer is number one priority
  • You understand the need to be flexible and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines
  • You are willing to perform other duties as assigned
  • Able to perform the following activities: standing and walking for long periods of time,
    stooping, bending, climbing (ladder, scaffolding, steps, etc.)
  • Ability to push, pull, and frequently lift and carry objects
  • Available to work overtime and weekends if needed
  • Proven leadership and supervisory capability is required
  • Hold basic carpenter / craftsman skills
  • Ability to learn and improve on those skills to advance into a project supervisory
    position.
  • You are a self-starter that will consistently show up on time and deliver results.
