The General Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on site development projects across Florida. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and according to plans and specifications. The General Superintendent manages foremen, subcontractors, and labor crews, while coordinating with project managers and engineers to ensure smooth execution of earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and paving operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct day-to-day field operations on multiple job sites. Supervise and support site foremen, equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors. Coordinate equipment and material deliveries to maintain production schedules. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and erosion control regulations (including SWPPP and FDOT standards where applicable). Review construction plans, site drawings, and specifications for accuracy and feasibility. Participate in pre-construction meetings and weekly project coordination meetings. Monitor project progress and adjust work schedules to meet milestones. Maintain daily reports, field logs, and documentation on labor, materials, and productivity. Enforce company policies, site safety plans, and quality control standards. Collaborate with project managers to track budgets, identify potential issues, and provide solutions. Train and mentor crew leaders and field personnel.

Requirements:

Minimum 10+ years of experience in site development, heavy civil, or utility construction, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role. Extensive knowledge of site development operations including excavation, grading, stormwater systems, water/sewer installation, and roadwork. Familiarity with FDOT specifications and SWPPP compliance is strongly preferred. Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors efficiently. Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specs. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Valid Florida Driver’s License and clean driving record. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
