The Estimating Manager is responsible for leading the estimating team in the preparation and analysis of project estimates for heavy civil construction projects. This role involves overseeing the entire estimating process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to company standards, while also managing resources and supporting project management teams. This role can be based out of our offices in either Cumming, GA or Stuart, FL. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the estimating team to prepare accurate and competitive bids for heavy civil construction projects.
Utilize Primavera, Heavy Bid, and HCSS software to develop detailed project estimates.
Conduct bid reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of estimates before submission.
Perform takeoffs and analyze production rates to optimize project cost estimates.
Schedule and coordinate subcontractor solicitations to obtain competitive pricing.
Implement cost control measures throughout the estimating process to enhance profitability.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to align estimates with project objectives.
Oversee the preparation of estimates for federal projects, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Evaluate project specifications and requirements to develop comprehensive estimates.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering professional growth. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in estimating for heavy civil construction, environmental remediation, and/or geotechnical projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field – Master’s Degree preferred.
Proficiency in Heavy Bid and Primavera software.
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage teams effectively.
Experience with bid reviews, takeoffs, and subcontractor solicitation.
Knowledge of cost control principles and practices in construction.
Familiarity with engineering principles and geotechnical construction.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
