Summary :
Independently performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives, involving conventional types of plans, surveys, investigations, structures, and equipment.
General Responsibilities:
Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design approach for a major phase of a large project or having overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of limited scope. Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements. Experience in developing working drawings for civil site plans (layout, plan and profile, grading, drainage, and paving). Experience with the planning and design of facility layout and site design projects. Possess drainage design experience is preferred; Cascade 2001 and/or ICPR Version 4 is preferred. Possess strong working knowledge of AutoCAD. Supervision of less experienced engineers or technical support personnel is exercised on an assignment basis and is not an ongoing substantial component at this level. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Makes basic decisions regarding alternative procedures when information is not given. Determines additional information that is needed from internal clients and coordinates them directly with LJA. Required Education/Licenses:
Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer preferred
Required Experience:
5+ years of post-graduate experience Perform civil engineering plans preparation in water and wastewater distribution and conveyance infrastructure, focused on site design project components including site layout, infrastructure piping, roadways, paving, grading, drainage, and stormwater infrastructure. Reviews of contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications, and evaluate requests for information as part of engineering services during construction. Strong communication skills Ability to build strong relationships
Additional Experience Preference:
Miami-Dade County design/permitting experience is preferred, but not required.
