Building Official/Building Manager Town of Golden Beach, Florida 100 Ocean Blvd, Golden Beach, FL 33160 The Town of Golden Beach is seeking an innovative, tech-savvy Building Official/Building Manager to lead the transformation of our Building and Permitting operations. This is not a traditional Bureaucratic role—we are looking for a trailblazer who will design and implement a faster, smarter, and more resident-friendly Building Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overhaul the building permit process to improve speed, transparency and accountability Introduce digital platforms and e-permitting tools to streamline workflows Ensure full compliance with Florida Building Code and local ordinances Supervise inspections and coordinate with contractors, residents and staff Serve as the Town’s subject matter expert on building code issues Proactively identify opportunities for automation and customer service improvements Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Town Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years’ experience in construction, permitting or municipal code enforcement Certified Building Official (CBO) or ability to obtain credentials within 12 months Proficient in permit management software and digital plan review platforms Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in Public Administration, Construction Management or related field Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills Energetic, forward-thinking and excited to be a change agent Must hold valid Florida Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
