Job Description:
We are looking for a highly qualified and organized Licensed General Contractor to manage and oversee the construction process for Villa Vista Homes’ expansion projects in Florida. This individual will work directly with clients during the selling and initial design process, ensuring that each project meets the highest standards of quality, compliance with city codes, and timely completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage subcontractors and navigate complex regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Lead and manage construction projects from initial design through completion, ensuring all phases adhere to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Client Interaction:
Collaborate directly with clients throughout the selling and design process to ensure their vision and needs are met. Act as the main point of contact for client communications and updates.
Subcontractor Management:
Oversee and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure efficient and timely project completion, while maintaining high standards of quality.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all construction work complies with local city codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards. Stay updated on any changes to regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with other team members, including architects, engineers, and designers, to ensure seamless integration of design and construction plans.
Reporting:
Provide regular updates to the executive team on project status, timelines, budgets, and any potential challenges or risks.
Qualifications:
Licensing:
Active and valid General Contractor’s License in the state of Florida.
Experience:
At least 5 years of experience as a general contractor in residential construction, with a focus on new home builds and/or home expansions.
Project Management:
Strong experience managing residential construction projects from start to finish.
Regulatory Knowledge:
In-depth understanding of Florida building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
Client-Facing:
Ability to work directly with clients, providing exceptional customer service and communication throughout the design and building process.
Leadership:
Proven experience in managing subcontractors and construction teams.
Organizational Skills:
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously.
Technology Proficiency:
Familiarity with construction management software and standard project management tools.
Communication:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to report effectively to executive-level leadership.
