Job Summary:
This role is central to ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and keeping our permitting process smooth, efficient, and ahead of schedule. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external authorities to make sure every permit is handled with care—and speed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the permitting process for new residential and light commercial construction projects in Florida Submit and track permit applications across various jurisdictions Build and maintain strong relationships with permitting authorities (AHJs) to resolve issues and avoid delays Coordinate with internal teams to ensure complete and accurate documentation Monitor and interpret changes in building codes, zoning ordinances, and permitting regulations across Florida Maintain a digital record-keeping system to track permit status, expiration dates, and renewal needs Provide weekly updates to management on permit timelines and project status Any other duties assigned by your Manager to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and live by our core values
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of permitting experience in construction (leadership experience strongly preferred) Strong knowledge of Florida building codes and permitting processes Highly organized and tech-savvy, especially with permitting portals and digital tracking tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel locally as needed
