We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a comprehensive understanding of construction processes and safety regulations. Plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Opening and securing the jobsite at the beginning and end of the day
  • Run the day-to-day operations on the construction site and control the short-term schedule
  • Communicate with project team regarding RFI’s and Material Submittals.
  • Gather project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the jobsite.
  • Ensure that the subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work.
  • Perform weekly site meetings to ensure job site safety, health, and environmental quality standards are followed and maintain daily site reports.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.
  • Responsible for all field operations by directing the daily progress of the work and supervising all construction field activities and personnel
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors and Project Management through daily reports and ensure that all directives and changes are captured.
  • Directs, supervises and coordinates the activities of all site based workers and subcontractors involved in the construction, installation, and repair of projects from mobilization through closeout documentation.
  • Coordinates and directs subcontractor’s supervisory personnel engaged in the execution of established work procedures.
  • Interpret specifications and conduct thorough review of plans.
  • Coordinates the activities of partner supervisors, engineering architectural personnel and inspectors to ensure that the most cost effective and efficient construction methods are utilized. Ensures the Project Manager and/or Program Manager is advised of any changes and issues arising on site.
  • Coordinates and directs workers and subcontractors in safety, quality, and weather-related scheduling decisions.
  • Ensuring the site meets all safety standards.
  • Coordinating inspections with the relevant local authorities that have jurisdiction in the area, including the final occupancy inspections.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Supervise daily construction activities and manage on-site personnel to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to enforce safety protocols and compliance with OSHA regulations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
  • Ability to read and interpret constructions documents (contracts, plans, specifications, schedules, etc.)
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be highly safety conscious and maintain an OSHA compliant worksite.
  • Possess precise attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and exercise sound judgment.
  • Be coachable and possess self-awareness.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively under deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Thorough knowledge of proper English usage/grammar, composition, spelling and punctuation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with managers, co-workers, subcontractors, vendors and government inspectors.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State health, safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Education and/or

Experience:
  • Five years’ verifiable experience as a construction superintendent on commercial projects or in a similar position in construction management.
  • Experience creating and adhering to budgets and schedules.
  • 4-year construction management degree preferred or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience with a High School diploma.
