My client is a well established, Central Florida-based general contractor experiencing significant growth, with a huge increase in backlog and revenue over the past three years. With over 40 years in business and a current public-sector DOT backlog exceeding $1.2 billion, they are expanding their operations team to support continued demand. The firm specializes primarily in roadway construction and maintains an in-house structures division. Additionally, they operate a large and active private-sector site development arm.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage public infrastructure projects, including roadway, utility, and site development work. Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met. Oversee project budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and compliance documentation. Conduct regular progress meetings and provide detailed status reports to stakeholders. Manage subcontractor performance, procurement, and onsite construction activities. Ensure adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations.
Qualifications:
7+ years of project management experience in heavy civil or public works construction. Proven track record delivering FDOT or municipal projects is preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proficiency in project management software (e.g., P6, HeavyJob, HCSS, Procore). Strong knowledge of DOT specifications and permitting processes in Florida. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
