Orlando, Florida Area Summary:

Commence is looking for an enthusiastic professional to play a pivotal role in building quality homes in the FL areas. This role requires a team player with excellent communication and a focus on quality.

Reports to:

Director of Construction Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan, schedule, and manage the oversight of quality-built homes from start through Certificate of Occupancy on a timely and economical basis. Direct and monitor the progress of multiple homes in various stages of construction concurrently. Schedule subcontractors and manage the quality of construction, productivity and compliance with building and safety codes. Manage trade and vendor relationships in order to build homes on schedule. Maintain safe, clean and compliant job sites. Coordinate delivery and use of materials throughout the construction process. Complete homes and all customer walk-through items prior to turnover. Track and control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns. Implement knowledge of construction methods, regulations, contracts and blueprint reading.

Experience:

Prior experience with residential home building in the Florida market is desired. Associates or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Supply Chain Management or related degrees preferred. Basic computer proficiency required to communicate and schedule with vendors and trades. Knowledge of Construction Practices and Terminology as well as the ability to read and understand blueprints and construction documents are preferred.

Job Qualifications:

Ability to establish good working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds, inside and outside the company. Monitor multiple job sites in a large geographical area that require excessive driving and getting in and out of a vehicle numerous times per day. Build and maintain customer relationships during the building process. Must frequently lift and move items at a minimum of 50 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Motivate building partners to perform at a high level of competency. Analyze and resolve problems that arise through the building process. Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and persistence to get things done. Decisive, flexible and composed under pressure, when faced with unexpected situations or delays and in a very fast-paced environment. Acts with a high degree of integrity Have a strong attention to detail, time management, prioritization and organizational skills to meet established goals and deadlines. Must be punctual. Must be a great communicator.
