Traveling Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent to support national retail programs. This hands-on role involves the effective execution and production of field operations on projects, working closely with the Project Manager to ensure success. Responsibilities Manage subcontractor performance and overall job schedule, including daily reports and photos uploaded to Procore, and inspections. Build and maintain positive relationships and communicate effectively with customers, internal coworkers, subcontractors, suppliers, and anyone else tied to the success of the project. Promote safety on the job site for all participants in the project. Participate in procurement and buyout of subcontractors, including defining scope and reviewing subcontracts. Manage utilization of subcontractors, labor, materials, equipment, and other project resources. Lead all field teams to ensure schedule and budget goals are met or exceeded. Provide solutions to proactively avoid and solve problems that may arise on the projects. Effectively manage and communicate project details including daily job reports, completion paperwork, permits, and other necessary documentation. Review drawings and all other pertinent project documents for accuracy, constructability, error or omissions, and resolve as necessary. Lead daily/weekly meetings at the job site including safety meetings and various subcontractor, client, and company progress meetings. Essential Skills 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in interior finish work and retail tenant improvement construction. Computer skills including Procore, Microsoft Office, and Outlook. Proven track record of meeting deadlines and ability to pay close attention to important project details. Effective and professional communication skills with a positive attitude. Exceptional organizational and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and multitask effectively. Extensive knowledge of commercial construction practices, including reading blueprints. Ability to travel 100% of the time for projects for extended periods. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Ability to self-perform light carpentry, drywall, etc. is a plus. Mileage is reimbursed for driving personal vehicles to projects, with airfare and rental provided where applicable. Hotel accommodations are provided, along with a per diem of $50/day for meals and incidentals.
