Position Summary:
The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily on-site operations for excavation and grading projects. This role ensures that work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in excavation and grading, and the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, and site logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all on-site excavation and grading activities. Manage crews, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain productivity and safety. Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, local codes, and OSHA regulations. Communicate daily with the Project Manager on progress, issues, and scheduling needs. Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure adherence to Davis Grading LLC’s safety protocols. Oversee equipment usage, maintenance needs, and material deliveries. Maintain detailed field reports, including job logs, timecards, inspections, and change orders. Identify and proactively resolve issues to minimize delays and disruptions. Liaise with clients, inspectors, and utility representatives as needed. Uphold quality control and site cleanliness throughout the duration of the project.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in excavation, grading, or civil construction. 2+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role preferred. Strong knowledge of site development, heavy equipment operation, and construction drawings. Proven ability to lead crews and manage day-to-day job site operations. Familiarity with GPS grade control and other modern sitework technologies is a plus. OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain). Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
