Summary:
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in various construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads. Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly. Transmit and explain work orders to laborers. Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders. Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered. Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals. Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance. Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise up to 10 employees.
Requirements:
Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy. Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects; lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects; carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; see and hear well (naturally or with correction). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals. Routine report writing. Effective communication skills vital.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma preferred. Two years related supervisory experience. CPR, First Aid and Confined Space Entry certifications.
