Job Summary:

Automation Assistant Superintendents are responsible for the day-to-day installation activities that ensure Primus Solutions projects are completed on schedule, within budget and to the quality standards required by the owner. This includes supervising material deliveries, subcontractor activities, equipment inspections and other responsibilities described below. Superintendents also champion Primus’s safety initiatives and ensure the owner’s sustainability goals are achieved.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify job site facility requirements for Solution scope of work and work with the project manager to acquire assets as necessary. When applicable, assist Builders Superintendent with all necessary requirements, including job site security, local permitting requirements, contractual documentation, and general project activities. Work with the project manager in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers Hold start-up meeting with all subcontractors to review scope, safety, schedule and quality of work. Manage Solutions contractors in their regular on-site progress, including safety and quality checks. Oversee weekly Solutions subcontractor coordination meetings and ensure subs attend overall building weekly meetings. Manage Solutions scope of work detail for all short-term work, including the weekly coordination of the Last Planner System – 6 week look ahead board. Attend pre- construction and attend Builders Superintendent Last Planner sessions. Review all submittals and shop drawings to verify they are in accordance with project specifications and drawings. Complete quality check lists daily on all work in progress Receive and review subcontractors’ daily inspection reports. Conduct inspections of work as it nears completion and issue punch lists to Subcontractors involved utilizing Primus methodologies and Procore toolsets. Willingness to travel and/or rotate with Builders superintendent(s) as necessary to ensure site coverage up 7 days a week on rotating 10/4 shift. Work in conditions during cool down commissioning as low as -20-degree F.

Qualifications and Skills:

2-year technical degree in field automation, material handling systems installation management, or related field or engineering discipline 1-3 years of demonstrated project management or supervision experience of mechanical and/or electrical systems; facility automation experience a plus. Proven responsibility for implementation and supplier management ($2M job size and up) Experience using Microsoft applications to include Teams, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word with Oracle Primavera project management a plus Knowledge of Procore Supervision tools with certification a plus Knowledge and skills using AutoCAD software is a plus Understanding of automation control systems, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, motor control systems, PLCs, and electrical circuits. Experience with climate-controlled material handling equipment to include ASRS, pallet handling conveyor, Auto palletization, vertical lifts, carton handling conveyor, and sortation. Bi-Lingual in Spanish is a required. 90% Travel to jobsites required
