Permitting Manager-OSP Gibson Technical Services, Inc 230 Mountain Brook Court, Canton, GA 30115 JOB

DESCRIPTION

The OSP Permitting Manager assigns work, tracks and reports progress, communicates with clients, interfaces with resource teams, provides quality assurance, and manages the flow of tasks and activities necessary to obtain permits for construction from federal, state, and local jurisdictions, railroad companies, and utility pole owners. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively manage multiple projects.
  • Gain appropriate approvals for assigned projects, to include project specifications and schedules
  • Interact, negotiate, and coordinate activities with clients.
  • Coordinate efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines and clients.
  • Ensure that all requirements are appropriately communicated to project team for on-time delivery.
  • Ensure that project documents and files are properly managed.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience – or a combination of relevant work experience, education, or an equivalent Military experience.
  • A solid technical base with a desire to learn, to lead, and to grow.
  • Familiar with OSP design and construction techniques and methods.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Must present a positive, professional image to employees, customers, and clients in all interactions.
  • Must have strong communication skills and experience working with customers.
  • Have problem-solving skills and able to think on your feet.
  • Have a general working knowledge of computers.
  • Must possess general knowledge of OSP construction techniques and methods.
  • Must have general knowledge of drafting techniques, methods, and software.
  • Must have general knowledge of the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a nationwide background check and drug screen.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Supervisory responsibilities include managing day to day activities of both on-site and remote activities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Office environment and client locations.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The job generally requires standing, walking, sitting, light lifting and carrying, reaching overhead, keyboarding, fine manipulation, stooping, speaking, and hearing.

TRAVEL Travel from home with occasional overnight stays is possible with this position.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License during the term of employment.
