DescriptionThis position is expected to be a field assignmentbased out of Georgia, US. The location of the assignment can varydepending on the job and/or client. We do offer per diem for thosethat qualify.
Position DescriptionSignificant growth in Sargent &Lundy’s (S&L) business over the past few years has driven theneed to increase focus and investment in S&L’s ConstructionManagement team. This team works closely with our external clientsto handle every detail of their needs, as well as with our internalteams to make the projects run as seamlessly as possible.
The SeniorProject Manager will work as a construction subject matter expert,responsible for supervising a team of discipline-specificconstruction managers. Serve as the primary liaison betweenclients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensurealignment on project objectives and requirements. Focused onmanaging and guiding the team to safely complete the scope of workon schedule for our clients. We are seeking a proven leader withlarge scale Combined Cycle power plant experience, who can not onlyensure the delivery of essential core services through aconstruction lens but do so with the highest level of alignmentwith our core values.
The core functions within the Senior ProjectManager scope are: To be the Construction subject matter expert and interface withall lead managers/team leads, while leveraging that knowledge forall projects within our company, as well as serve S&L acrossother business units that require construction experience. Manage client expectations and maintain strong clientrelationships through effective communication and timelyupdates. Provide oversight to the project’s overall cost andschedule. Oversee and manage change orders, ensuring scope changes aredocumented, approved, and incorporated into project plans. Assess and mitigate the impact of scope changes on cost andschedule. Develop project-specific construction management and/orcommissioning management work plans. Perform home office or remote pre-construction planning workbefore field mobilization. Lead and manage the site construction management andcommissioning staff. Monitor overall construction and commissioning progress, cost,quality, scope, and safety. Conduct thorough risk assessments at all stages of the projectand develop contingency plans to mitigate construction andcommissioning risks. Report construction progress and cost to the Project Directorand/or Client. Lead and attend construction project performance reviewmeetings. Plan construction process by developing schedules, phasing, andlookaheads. Keep track of project progress and maintain schedules. Keep all documentation up to date for internal and externalproject members. Collaborate with the internal construction team, engineers,subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs. Review and oversee contractual agreements with subcontractorsand suppliers to ensure terms and deliverables are met. Handle disputes or claims arising from contractperformance. Adhere to estimated costs and ensure the project is on budget(and is profitable). Supervise field staff and provide constructive feedback. Resolve on-site issues and emergencies. Oversee project close-out activities, including finalinspections, punch list resolution, and documentationhandover. Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned andimprove future project execution. Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly throughcompliance with S&L standards.

Thefollowing skills, experience, and qualifications are required: Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited collegeor university, relevant experience in construction. 20+ years of construction industry experience; with focus onfull construction experience. Must have experience with advanced class combined cycleprojects, environmental retrofit projects and new generationcombined heat and power projects is preferred. Experience with EPC and GC contract models. 15+ years in progressive leadership roles, supervisingconstruction teams, managing clients, subcontractors, andvendors. Demonstrated ability to communicate intentionally and clearlyacross multiple stakeholders, vendors, teammates, and businesspartners. Determination of staff positions and size; interviewing andselection of personnel experience. Construction labor knowledge and labor planningexperience. Experience in establishing and effectively using projectcontrols tools to manage a large construction project. Understanding of a process approach to accomplishingconstruction management and start-up testing work. Demonstrated client relationship-building experience. Knowledge of quality, safety, and health guidelines forsizeable industrial construction job sites. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Organizational and time-management skills. OSHA 10 or 30. Must be able to travel.
