Director of Construction & Operations Bliss Products and Services, Inc Lithia Springs, GA Summary/objective:
Bliss Products is seeking a high-impact Director of Construction & Operations to lead the execution, growth, and scalability of our construction and internal operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will function as the operational second-in-command and is being hired with the clear intention to help lead the company from $50M to $100M in revenue. With direct accountability for the success of all construction initiatives — including playgrounds, splash pads, shade structures, and recreational projects — the Director will ensure that every project is executed with excellence while building a scalable operational infrastructure to support significant growth. Key Responsibilities Include:
Construction Project Oversight Manage 30-50 concurrent construction projects ranging from $100K to $1.5M in value.
Oversee the full construction lifecycle:
preconstruction planning, scheduling, subcontractor procurement, site supervision, and closeout. Maintain and enforce rigorous QA/QC standards, jobsite safety protocols, and daily communication with supervisors and subcontractors. Ensure alignment with local and state regulations, inspectors, utility companies, and permitting agencies. Coordinate project close-out processes, punch lists, and customer satisfaction walkthroughs. Operational & Strategic Leadership Own the full P&L for the company, ensuring operational margin targets are met or exceeded. Develop and implement standardized processes and SOPs across departments to ensure scalability and cross-functional consistency.
Lead company-wide EOS implementation:
run L10 meetings, track scorecards, own the accountability chart, and ensure quarterly and annual Rocks are achieved. Build and maintain the company’s 1-, 3-, and 5-year strategic plans, in alignment with leadership and CEO vision. Serve as right hand to the CEO, translating high-level strategy into day-to-day operational execution. Support market expansion efforts by evaluating geographic scalability, subcontractor capacity, and delivery model efficiency. KPI & Data-Driven Execution Establish and manage operational and financial KPI dashboards to drive real-time visibility and accountability across the organization. Use data to identify bottlenecks, drive process improvements, and enable proactive decision-making at scale. Team Development & Cultural Stewardship Hire, train, and lead the operations team, ensuring strong communication, performance management, and accountability systems are in place. Design and implement a leadership pipeline, building bench strength at the Project Manager, Field Supervisor, and Crew Leader levels. Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, ownership, and collaboration across all levels of the company. Implement training, onboarding, and internal mentorship to support employee growth and retention. Technology & Systems Enablement Lead evaluation and implementation of construction, scheduling, procurement, and reporting software (quickbase) to enhance efficiency and scalability. Ensure that technology tools are integrated across teams and processes to enable consistency, communication, and data accuracy. Finance & Accounting Collaboration Work closely with the accounting team to manage Construction-in-Progress (CIP) reconciliation, change order processes, and job cost reporting. Review project financials regularly and ensure all revenue, billing, and expense tracking is accurate and aligned with forecasting models. Ensure financial visibility is maintained at both project and company levels. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with the Sales Manager to align operational readiness with sales forecasts and establish realistic, scalable quotas. Serve as the escalation point for field issues, operational roadblocks, or resource conflicts affecting project performance or client satisfaction. Actively manage subcontractor relationships and performance, ensuring alignment with Bliss’s strategic and quality standards.
Required Education and Experience:
Executive-level operations or construction management experience with full P&L accountability. Deep expertise in scaling systems, people, and infrastructure in a high-growth environment. Track record of aligning cross-functional departments (sales, ops, finance, construction) around common goals and performance metrics. Strong acumen in finance and budgeting, with a systems-thinking mindset. Familiarity with EOS or similar operating systems strongly preferred. 5-10 years in operations or construction leadership in a company managing $25M-$100M in revenue. Proven success managing 25+ active construction projects concurrently. Experience building SOPs and KPI dashboards to support scalable, data-driven operations. Expertise in civil, mechanical, shade/structure installation, site development, and municipal coordination. Bachelor’s degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Teams); construction management software experience preferred. Valid Driver’s License, clean driving history, and ability to pass background checks.
