Benning is looking for a Commercial Construction Sr. ProjectManager with 5 – 7 years working as a PM with a General Contractorto develop Benning’s Public Sector Work (ground up and renovation)in various cities, counties and municipalities. The right personmust have prior project management experience who is interested indeveloping Benning’s public work. This person will be responsiblefor identifying opportunities in Benning area of opportunity,preparing Pre-Qualification Proposals, preparing Requests forProposals, managing these projects and project management teams toensure projects are completed in accordance with design, budget andschedule. They will be responsible for devising strategies toincrease business in the public sector, and modifying thesestrategies to drive the business forward to meet established goals.
Job Requirements Essential Qualifications Must have experienceworking as a Commercial Construction Project Manager for a GeneralContractor or as a Construction Manager for a county, city ormunicipality Ensuring projects are completed in accordance withdesign, budget and schedule. Have a keen eye for detail and anability to ensure that all the components for an RFQ and RFP areincluded in the bid documents Utilization of analytical skills,creativity, motivation an strategic thinking to achieve team andindividual goals. Understanding of the various constructiondelivery methods for a variety of public work projects(Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Fast Track) Develop relationshipswith architects with experience in the public work sectorUnderstanding of the certain minimum procedures that must befollowed pursuant to government requirements Desire to learn how toprocure opportunities in the public work sector Ability to developconstruction schedules with critical path and milestonesUnderstanding of how to develop and manage the project budget andof how decisions impact the profitability of the project Ability tomake independent decisions and to resolve conflict within theproject Experience running multiple construction projects andproject teams while developing assistant project managers,assistant superintendents and foremen into future leadersProfessionally represent Benning as the primary interface withOwners, Architects, and Engineers Effectively communicate,organize, plan and execute Maintain project analysis andobjectivity throughout the project Demonstrated history of abilityto develop strategies to increase business in the public worksector Competency with computers and various project managementcomputer programs Five to seven years’ experience in commercialconstruction Ability to travel to multiple job sites throughoutGeorgia as necessary
