Management Job Purpose:
Plan, direct, and coordinate, often through subordinate personnel, the daily activities concerned with the construction of commercial projects from inception and ground-breaking through completion. Participate in construction activities while maintaining schedules, budgets, safety, and quality control. Essential Functions include but are not limited to: All field operations on project, executed within the working environment that ensures safety of people, equipment and property at all times. Work with project manager in developing and maintaining a workable schedule. Schedule subcontractors at proper intervals relating to building sequence. Enforce safety rules set forth by Company, OSHA, local codes and all governing authorities. Complete all field reports and documentation such as conversation logs, daily logs, material receipts and personal log in addition to formal daily reports. Advise project manager of material shortages, delayed shipments and damaged material that will affect project schedule. Work with architect, engineer and project manager to resolve errors or conflicts found in drawings or specifications. Possess a working knowledge of site work and elevations. Be prepared to check the work of the grading contractors and other trades as necessary to ensure their work is installed at specified elevations. Work out solutions for minor conflicts in the field (example: duct in the way of plumbing pipe) Maintain a correct and complete set of drawings on site at all times. This includes civil, architectural, fire marshal approved, shop drawings and a working set of as-builts. Ensure accuracy and quality control of subcontractor’s work.

Job Requirements:
Must possess a minimum of 10 years experience as a
COMMERCIAL SUPERINTENDENT.
Must be self motivated and have the ability to work independently. Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints. Must be able to meet high quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules. Must display strong leadership skills and personal accountability.

Education/Experience:
Ten (10) years related experience and/or training.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of subcontractors or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
