Job Description:

Summary Lead, direct and oversee effective daily operation of the HVACtemperature controls construction department. Responsible to leadthe preconstruction process in all types of design-build,design-bid-build, and hard bid engagements. Establishes projectobjectives for preconstruction phase, maintain liaison with primeand/or subcontractor clients, and monitors design progress andproject budget. Act as needed to ensure project goals, objectivesand initiatives are met in alignment with the company’s mission andcustomer expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the bid team, operations team, owners,designers, and subcontractors to ensure the design phase iscompleted on time with acceptable margin performance. Work with theconstruction team to ensure accuracy of cost estimates, scopes ofwork and schedule requirements. Identify and effectively manageowner expectations during the preconstruction phase.
• Responsible for the development of viable cost options andvalue engineering/analysis in all building systems with a thoroughunderstanding of the inter-relationship of building systems andtheir impact on the overall project budget. design, quality, andlife cycle.
• Responsible to accurately manage all aspects of estimating,constructability, and value analysis, including the timelymanagement of take-off functions, subcontractor bid solicitation,estimate maintenance, and final deliverables. Ability to analyzeboth risk and profitability at each level of the estimate.
• Effectively build and manage project schedule in Procore bycollaborating with field operations on scope elements anddurations, to include design phases, project phasing, permitting,prequalification, bidding, long lead items and impactful general,electrical and mechanical construction activities.
• Work with senior leadership to set clear and attainable goalsfor construction teams. Participate in training opportunities toincrease technical and leadership competencies.
• Promote and support good internal and external relationshipsthroughout all divisions and departments of Dorsett Controls andwith customers and the public.

Minimum Qualifications &Training:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or anequivalent combination of training and work experiences preferred
• Project management in commercial HVAC controls, electrical ormechanical construction is required with a preference for HVACtemperature controls experience.
• 7 years’ experience in the construction industry.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.

Isresponsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluationof these team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities inaccordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
