Senior Project Manager / Senior Estimator The Landscape Project Manager / Estimator oversees commercial landscape projects from inception to completion while providing accurate cost estimates and takeoffs. This dual role involves managing daily project operations, coordinating with crews and subcontractors, tracking metrics, and preparing draft bids for review. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and proficient in industry-specific software, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Project Management Daily Oversight:
Monitor and manage multiple landscape projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Crew Coordination:
Review and verify crew time entries to ensure accuracy for payroll, labor budgets, and project cost tracking.
Project Documentation:
Ensure crews upload daily project forms and photos to project management software for real-time tracking, documentation, and client updates.
Material Procurement:
Track and procure materials, coordinating with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
Site Inspections:
Conduct regular site visits to verify project progress, work quality, compliance with design specifications, and client satisfaction.
Subcontractor Coordination:
Attend subcontractor meetings to align project goals, schedules, and deliverables, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Submittal Packages:
Prepare and produce submittal packages for client and stakeholder approval.
Metrics Tracking:
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as labor hours, material usage, equipment costs, and project milestones to optimize efficiency.
Client Communication:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction throughout project execution.
Issue Resolution:
Address project challenges (e.g., delays, scope changes, or unforeseen site conditions) promptly and effectively.
Estimating Take-offs:
Perform material and labor take-offs based on project plans, specifications, and site visits to support accurate cost estimation.
Draft Bids:
Prepare draft bids and proposals, incorporating take-offs, labor estimates, material costs, and subcontractor quotes, for review by the Senior Estimator.
Vendor Coordination:
Solicit competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective pricing for materials and services.
Cost Analysis:
Analyze project scope and requirements to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and alignment with client expectations.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and supporting documentation for project handoff and future reference.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Aspire Landscape Software, AutoCAD, Autodesk. (Preferred) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, crews, subcontractors, and vendors. Problem-solving mindset with keen attention to detail for accurate estimates and project documentation.
Valid Driver’s License Physical Requirements:
Ability to visit project sites, navigate uneven terrain, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various weather conditions. Sitting at a desk occassionally for extended periods.
Education and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, Construction Management, Horticulture, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management and/or estimating within the landscaping, construction, or related industry.
