Job Overview :
VPG is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
Oversee and manage all phases of construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Use construction management software to effectively track project progress, manage schedules, and coordinate resources. Examine blueprints and project specifications to ensure accurate implementation of plans. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work progress and enforce safety protocols according to OSHA standards. Work together with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to ensure smooth operations on-site. Use tools like HeavyBid to estimate project costs and Ohmmeter to test electrical equipment as necessary. Use project management software such as ProCore to effectively track project timelines and deliverables. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a positive work environment while addressing any issues that arise during construction. Experience Demonstrated experience in supervising construction projects, along with a solid understanding of construction management principles. Proficiency in utilizing construction management software like Procore, HeavyBid, and Primavera is highly desirable. Strong skills in blueprint reading and interpretation are essential for success in this role. Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices within the construction industry is required. Experience using tools like Ohmmeter for testing electrical components is a plus.
