About the
Role:
This position will be responsible for managingand leading a large electrical project that consists of 100employees . This person will work in conjunction with the on-siteElectrical Project Manager and assigned supporting SeniorSuperintendent. Sturgeon Electric’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I)electrical construction division specializes in large-scalecommercial electrical projects, telecommunications, trafficsignalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution serviceand maintenance to clients. Sturgeon Electric has experienceperforming projects under Integrated Lean Project Delivery methods,and also offers pre-construction services, in-house pre-fabricationcapabilities, and Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities.
Essential Functions Create a consistent Vision & Message to theproject management teams Unify and create consistent buildingmethods and standards for the COC project teams working with the SrProcurement Superintendent Assist in tracking COC’s WorkforceAssist project teams with labor schedules, project projections andmaintain consistent means and methods (The Sturgeon Way)(8Productivity Drivers) Be active with COC’s training manager inidentifying new candidates for FLT classes and other requiredtraining Be active with COC’s Safety Team in identifying newcandidates, tracking and continuous training for safetyprofessionals Lead On-Site Field Meetings Weekly ProjectCoordination meetings Coordination / BIM team meetings / Turn overmeetings – as needed General Contractor meetings to support theSturgeon Team Assist in setting expectations for on-site SturgeonField Leadership (as designated by the Director of FieldOperations) Educate teams on what resources are available to themfrom within the region. Hold focused meetings with seniorsuperintendent. Assist in setting expectations for WorkforceSuperintendents (as designated by the Director of Field Operations)Educate teams on what resources are available to them from withinthe region Hold focused meetings with senior superintendent Assistin tracking productivity and projections using MYR Group labortracking software Schedule site visits as needed with seniorsuperintendents and other company leadership Review manpowerprojection & project schedule with project team Assist in thedirection of the project team and field supervision Collaboratewith the Procurement group, Director of Field Operations andworkforce superintendents to bring the best value to the projectteams Foster positive relationships within COC’s Field Operationsteam Cultivate a strong safety culture Regular and predictableattendance Other duties as assigned Essential functions of thisposition are to be performed in a Company-designated office orfield location Understand and comply with the Company’s Code ofBusiness Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specificprofessional and ethical conduct standards
About You:
Qualifications Minimum 3 years of progressively-responsibleexperience in adult learning, training, process improvement, and/orprocurement roles including leadership roles Minimum 5 years ofexperience in senor level field management roles within theelectrical construction industry, proven experience in managingprojects greater than $15M, and a workforce of 100 employees Priorexperience working within the utilities and/or electricalconstruction industry Strong financial knowledge within theelectrical industry High school diploma or GED Documented educationand/or training in Construction Management, Training & Development,Quality Assurance, Business Administration or comparablediscipline; combination of relevant education and experienceconsidered in lieu of degree Certification from accreditedelectrical trade school institution Colorado Journeyman ElectricalLicense Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Maintain OSHA 10 / 30qualifications Proficient in Microsoft 365 & Bluebeam Studio, andTeams Solid knowledge of construction management techniquesExcellent planning proficiency Strong knowledge of workforceproductivity Detail orientation and analytical aptitude Provendecision-making and planning skills Detail orientation andanalytical aptitude Ability to develop and deliver instructions onhow to build and maintain a construction schedule (3 & 6 week lookahead also labor projection completion schedule) Proficient inMicrosoft 365 & Bluebeam Studio, Teams, Construction MonkeyPersonal dedication Sturgeon’s Safety culture, with prior safetycommittee membership Good verbal and electronic communicationskills Visionary mindset Strong financial knowledge
What We Offer:
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
125,000 – $145,000/annually.
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. This position is coveredby a collective bargaining agreement. The terms and conditions ofthe collective bargaining union agreement will apply. Wage dependson experience and certifications, and benefits are detailed withinthe applicable collective bargaining agreement. Position may besubject to pre-employment screening, which may include backgroundcheck and drug testing.
