Job Description

Construction Project Manager Confidential Covington, LA 70433 The Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects serving as the owner’s representative for a distribution company, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. This role involves coordinating with various departments, contractors, and teams to achieve project goals. The ideal candidate should have commercial or industrial construction management experience and be proficient in problem-solving, project budgeting, and maintaining strong communication with team members and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Oversees and manages all aspects of construction projects for a distribution company, serving as the owner’s representative for projects handled by general contractors throughout the United States and Canada. Coordinates effectively with contractors to ensure project requirements are met. Utilizes construction experience to ensure adherence to relevant building codes and safety standards. Develops and manages project budgets, including hard and soft costs. Creates and manages project schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time. Assembles and manages teams of consultants and contractors, negotiating contracts and maintaining relationships. Identifies and addresses potential liabilities and risks. Assists in training and developing project team members. Engages in business development activities to secure new construction projects and partnerships within local markets. Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. 5-8 years of industry experience, preferably in roles such as Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager. Firm knowledge of construction, architecture, or commercial real estate industry. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, lease agreements, and building codes. Proficiency in MS Office software, especially MS Excel. Experience with construction management software is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills for interactions with internal and external clients. Superior organizational and time management skills.
