Top 5 GeneralContractor in the state. Description Manage the entire designprocess, from initial engagement through a smooth transition intoconstruction. Being an advocate for the client and designer. Leadthe design and preconstruction process through facilitation ofunderstanding and communication of realistic expectations for allstakeholders. Consistently adding value throughout the design phaseand preconstruction process with insightful advice to increaseclient value. Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of thevarious estimates. Review drawings, specifications, and all otherconstruction documents, communicate construction-related concerns,completeness of information, and potential risks based on thecurrent design status with all stakeholders Review advice on theconstruction of the Client Contract including the GeneralConditions, Supplementary Conditions, and additional exhibits.
Participation in the preparation of construction schedule forestimating purposes, requests, and discusses staffing requirementsand logistics plans with Project Manager and Managing Director.
Participation in the preparation of General Conditions estimate andreview with Director of Preconstruction and Managing Director, andany other senior project staff that might have been assigned to theproject. Responsible for the preparation of preliminary, schematic,design development, and construction estimates and studies duringpre-construction, monitor design development cost trends in orderto detect over-runs and potential problem areas. Lead the valueengineering and cost control process. Support Business Developmentin proposal presentation, aids in building client andArchitect/Engineer relationships. Assists Project Manager inevaluating and analyzing subcontractor proposals and in preparationof subcontracts. Works to advance the design phase /preconstruction process through the innovative application oftechnological tools and management techniques. Performs otherduties as assigned. Profile Bachelor’s degree in ConstructionManagement, Construction Administration, Engineering, or equivalentcombination of technical training and/or experience required.
Advanced math and computer skills desirable. Construction fieldexperience a plus, but not required. Ability to conceptualize theproject schedule from project start through completion, includingsequence/phasing of work with minimal information and quicklydevelop an understanding of the Owner/Architect requirement.
Knowledge of assigned discipline, estimating techniques and costcontrols. Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems,market conditions and trade practices. Demonstrates imaginative,innovative, and succinct approach to a project. Cooperativeness,ability to work in a team and a constructive, respectful attituderequired.
