Coordination of daily/weekly production schedules with efficient placement of construction crew personnel to support schedules. Discuss with Project Manager on customers issues to include local, state and federal government to resolve customer service concerns, regulatory compliance and to ensure full adherence to project specifications are met. Coordination with Shop Foreman regarding preventative maintenance and equipment repairs. Uphold operator care standards and support better equipment care. Provides coaching, mentorship, and guidance to front line leaders concerning performance management, development, and discipline. Supports hiring, onboarding and mentoring of new personnel. Provides technical oversight to all construction practices. Responsible for adherence to operating standards, and the development of foreman/supervisory goals & objectives. Optimizes production and establishes productivity improvement goals where needed. Reviews and understands all cost associated with the project to ensure on-time and under-budget performance. Construction Superintendent Requirements Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D certification, required 8+ years of asphalt road construction experience, preferred 3+ years of progressive leadership, preferred Valid driver’s license with good driving record Ability to operate various paving equipment Ability to measure and calculate daily asphalt quantities Ability to learn construction and time keeping software Proficiency with Microsoft Office products – specifically Outlook, Word and Excel Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiates to ensure a safe work environment. Work Conditions/ Physical Requirements Ability to work, day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours). Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions. Commute to multiple sites in which there could be exposure to loud noise, dust, and odor. Ability to work in safety sensitive construction zones around large machinery and heavy equipment. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
