About the role:

The OBR Package Tower Field Superintendent will act as a subject matter expert in the repair and rebuild of cooling towers, with a particular focus on package tower refurbishment. This role is responsible for supervising the field erection and repair of cooling towers, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with OBR’s quality standards. This position requires close collaboration with OBR’s engineering, project management, purchasing, and construction teams to meet or exceed customer expectations.

Position:

Manage job site operations to ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications. Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and team members. Uphold high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure all work aligns with contract terms. Promote a culture of safety by following and enforcing safe work procedures; stop work if unsafe conditions are present. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Supervise and mentor field technicians, including conducting safety orientations and enforcing industry best practices. Oversee the receipt and management of construction materials. Direct the erection and repair processes on-site. Prepare and submit daily reports and time logs. Select and coordinate with suppliers for equipment rentals and job site materials. Manage project closeout activities, including final documentation and client approval. Monitor and control project budgets to ensure profitability. Develop and manage project schedules and work plans. Track subcontractor progress and performance. Lead pre-construction meetings and coordinate planning efforts. Train and develop Foremen, Leadmen, and general crew members across all crafts. Inspect ongoing work to ensure quality and adherence to OBR and client specifications. Collaborate with engineering, supervisory staff, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve issues and improve construction methods. Interpret project drawings and specifications to plan construction phases, staffing, and timelines. Contribute to the strategic development of bids and project execution plans. Function as a resource for problem-solving during construction. Plan and manage projects of varying complexity, from inspections to large-scale builds. Oversee large crew operations and resource allocation. Travel to job sites as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma, or equivalent 10-12 years in field cooling tower construction with 3 years’ experience in package tower refurbishment. 3 years (minimum) as a foreman in cooling tower construction. Construction management experience preferred.

OSHA 10 AND OSHA 30

Certification Certification in CPR and First Aid TWIC card Rigging, forklift, and man-lift certification

Other Qualifications:

Knowledge of Windows-based applications Ability to select and use proper tools Knowledge and application of safety standards through OSHA training and experience. Ability to multi-task Ability to manager large crews and work scopes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands:

Lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing (stairs and structures) and stooping Keyboarding/typing Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or paper copy Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to communicate effectively verbally Outside or in a plant environment; may be exposed to bad weather and/or excessive heat and noise. Hazardous chemicals are typically produced or stored in a location close to the Work area.

Prerequisites/Requirements:

Negative 10 panel urinalysis and breath alcohol test. Valid Driver’s License and Proof of U.S. Citizenship. Maintain active status in DISA Proof of U.S. citizenship Score of a 2 or less in a DISA background screen. As an OBR Cooling Towers team member, you will enjoy:
