Jackson, MS Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Construction Superintendent with a minimum of 5 years’ but preferable with 10 years’ experience to oversee and manage on-site construction activities across a portfolio of healthcare-related commercial projects. This role will focus on interior renovations of occupied medical facilities , build-outs of surgical care units , and other complex renovations of existing hospitals and medical office buildings. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple subcontractors, maintain high standards of professionalism, and ensure the comfort and safety of patients and staff in active care environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate all field operations and subcontractor activities on-site Manage day-to-day construction tasks while ensuring minimal disruption to medical facility operations Ensure that all workers are respectful of the active healthcare environment and follow necessary cleanliness, noise, and access control protocols Serve as the primary on-site representative for the company; interface professionally with clients, inspectors, healthcare staff, and vendors Monitor construction schedule and coordinate subcontractors to ensure all project milestones and deadlines are met Conduct daily inspections to enforce jobsite safety, cleanliness, quality control, and regulatory compliance Lead and document daily jobsite huddles and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings Maintain daily reports, site photographs, and logs for all construction activity Communicate field issues promptly and effectively to project management Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals; ensure work is completed according to contract documents Coordinate deliveries, material staging, and installation in a way that minimizes disruption to occupied facilities Support punch list completion and project turnover activities with precision and attention to detail
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Superintendent Strong background in healthcare construction , especially interior renovations of large, occupied medical facilities Previous experience in build-outs of surgical care units and renovation of existing hospitals or medical offices Polished, professional demeanor; ability to represent the company in sensitive and high-stakes client environments Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience coordinating and managing subcontractors across multiple trades In-depth knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, healthcare-specific compliance, and building codes Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications Must reside within 60 miles of Jackson, Mississippi Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction scheduling software OSHA 30 certification preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
