Overview:
Responsible for directing, planning and managing theoverall construction project(s) from inception to completion.
Ensure the client’s requirements are met and projects are completedwithin assigned schedule and budget and in compliance with Companysafety and procedural policies. The duties of a ConstructionManager III will vary by client and project size with varyingdegrees of responsibility and authority.
Location & Travel Details:
You’ll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping ourteam build renewable projects. This is a traveling position (up to100%), where you will be onsite at a project location. You have thepotential to be placed on a project site located in any statethroughout the US. You’ll spend 8-12 months on average per project.
We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay tosupport and help you cover living expenses. This position iseligible for routine travel home (rotation) from the jobsite. Acompany vehicle and fuel card will be provided. Responsibilities:
Communicate, promote and comply with all Wanzek Safety policies,goals, vision and campaigns to the project team Must be able toperform all the duties required of a Construction Manager II inaddition to Construction Manager III duties Manage the project teamwith the PM to facilitate an environment for all management andsupervision staff to work in a respectful, constructive andpositive environment Responsible for the overall direction,coordination and evaluation of the project Oversee constructionworkers and their supervisors including other Construction ManagersCoordinate activities of Construction Managers Foremen and/orconstruction trade workers in one or more occupations, as well assuppliers and subcontractors Carry out supervisory responsibilitiesin accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable lawsMonitor and direct the progress of the construction site Ability torecognize the need for and negotiate Change Orders facilitated byAPM/PM. Determine labor requirements for project Monitor budgetproject costs to ensure project costs are within budget parametersEnsure production schedules are maintained to measure time,production and meet requirements of project Monitor compliance withset regulations Ability to study project cost indexes andchange/adapt to benefit the project. Study, communicate, andimprove on productivity analysis provided by Project Manager Keeprecords in a systematic, well-organized fashion Monitor allrequired paperwork for entire job Ability to communicateeffectively in both oral and written form to large employee groups,owners or engineers Maintain and enforce discipline throughout thejobsite Interview, hire and train direct reports, plan, assign anddirect work, appraise performance; reward and discipline employees,address complaints and resolve problems Work with the Client’s sitemanagement team to ensure their expectations are being met and thatthey are satisfied with a safely constructed and quality-installedproduct Work with the PM to ensure the Client’s expectations arerealistically managed and aligned with the agreement and scope ofwork Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND WORKEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in ConstructionManagement, Engineering or related field preferred; equivalentcombination of education and experience Seven years of constructionindustry experience/knowledge of construction techniques,estimating and construction management Previous experience in asupervisory role including overseeing more than three trades (ex.civil, electrical and mechanical), on projects with revenue values$80M-100M Self-perform construction project experience includingoverseeing large sized field teams on projects with 200 staff
