Description Job Summary Responsible for administration of project HSE, AccountabilityPrograms, Accident and Fire Protection Programs, Risk Managementissues, and maintaining full compliance with Company, Client andState/Federal safety regulations, and drug and alcoholpolicies. Initiates and participates (with Operations) in allAccident/Incident investigations to determine Root-Causes anddevelopment of a Corrective Action Plan, including associatedreports. Assists in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafeemployee activities through interface and teamwork with Project /Operations management/supervisory personnel. Conduct field audits to ensure compliance with all company,client, and OSHA regulations (includes auditing worksite forcompliance to the Hand Injury Prevention Program). Maintains Accountability Programs for project safety-relatedissues and works with supervision to ensure uniform application ofsafety related discipline. Monitors compliance with all drug and alcohol consortiums andmaintains a current list of Matrix Service employees for the randompool. Works with the HSE Director, Business Unit HSE Manager andProject Manager to develop Project Safety Goals and a WrittenSafety Action Plan to assist in achieving the goals. Conducts or schedules training (as required) for supervisionand field employees for new hire/re-hire orientations, Clientorientations, C-STOP Plus, Basic Plus, S.T.A.R.T., etc. Othertraining as may be required to maintain compliance with CorporateSafety Manual Procedures or State/Federal safetyregulations. Supervises the project HSE staff including mentoring, coaching,and developing all HSE personnel under their supervision. Effectively communicates verbally and in writing, pertinent HSEinformation to the client and to Company managementpersonnel. Perform additional related duties, as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in occupational/ environmental safety andhealth management, or equivalent combination ofeducation/experience in lieu of degree. 5+ years of safety experience as an individual contributor inconstruction or industrial fabrication facility or equivalentbackground, plus 2+ years of previous supervisory experiencestrongly preferred. Must meet ONE of the following criteria: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in safety from an ABET accreditedinstitution with a minimum of five (5) years of large projectexperience in a construction safety role as a titled safetyprofessional A CSP designation with a minimum of five (5) years in aconstruction safety role as a titled safety professional. A CHST designation with a minimum of five (5) years in aconstruction safety role as a titled safety professional. A minimum of 5 years’ experience on a large project in aconstruction safety role as a titled safety professional and becurrent with the

Training Course. Advanced knowledge and ability to enforce all federal state,local and company safety regulations required. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implementcorrective measures essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills also required. Physical Requirements Must be able to effectively communicate. Must be able and willing to work at elevated heights fromladders, scaffolding, aerial work platforms, etc. Work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objectsweighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material,equipment or tools. Must be able to perform tasks in hot and coldtemperatures. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Work make include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching andstooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/ortrailers. Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods oftime, up to a minimum of 8 hours per day.
