Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Superintendent to lead on-site execution for charter school construction projects. This role will focus on managing subcontractor performance, ensuring permit compliance, driving risk mitigation strategies, and facilitating conflict resolution-while keeping projects on schedule and up to Hubrich Contracting’s quality standards. Key Responsibilities Subcontractor Management Supervise and coordinate all subcontractor activities, ensuring work is completed on schedule and to specification. Conduct and lead weekly subcontractor coordination meetings , fostering communication and trade alignment. Review and enforce scopes of work, hold subcontractors accountable, and manage performance expectations. Ensure proper sequencing of trades and identify critical path items. Schedule Look-Aheads & Project Planning Develop and maintain detailed 3-week and 6-week look-ahead schedules , integrated with the master project timeline. Review look-aheads with subcontractors during weekly meetings to track progress, identify upcoming needs, and prevent schedule slip. Anticipate procurement lead times and potential bottlenecks; communicate them proactively with project teams. Permit Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Oversee permitting processes and ensure timely inspections across jurisdictions. Coordinate with local authorities and building departments to resolve compliance issues without impacting the project timeline. Maintain all required documentation related to permitting, inspections, and code compliance. Risk Mitigation & Site Safety Identify project risks-safety, financial, logistical-and implement proactive mitigation strategies. Lead weekly safety meetings and uphold all OSHA regulations and site-specific safety requirements. Investigate incidents, maintain daily safety logs, and drive continuous improvement in job site safety culture. Conflict Resolution Facilitate real-time resolution of trade conflicts, design discrepancies, or site constraints with a collaborative, solutions-first approach. Serve as the on-site point of contact for field-level issue resolution between subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders. Elevate complex conflicts to project management while offering context and recommended solutions. Quality & Documentation Conduct regular quality inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and finish standards. Maintain accurate daily logs, subcontractor check-ins, inspection reports, and progress photos. Ensure all work is delivered to the high standards that Hubrich Contracting clients expect. Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial projects (school construction experience strongly preferred). Proven ability to manage diverse subcontractor teams and drive results through weekly planning and coordination. Familiarity with permitting and inspection requirements across NC, SC, GA, FL, and/or TN. Expertise in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and construction schedules. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination and documentation. Proficiency in scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent) and construction platforms (e.g., Procore). OSHA 30 certification preferred; must be safety-focused and organized.
