This keyproject leader for Clayco’s Field Operations team will overseeconstruction of 100MM – 500MM or more.
The Specifics of the Role Responsible for the organization and direction of all on-siteconstruction-related activities and the primary contact for allproject field activities. Ensure construction operations are in compliance with design,specifications, and that construction operations are completed onschedule, within budget and to quality standards. Responsible for site management including management ofconstruction subcontractors, professional staff to include fieldengineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, fieldprocurement, finance and accounting services, and workforceservices. Responsible for managing and maintaining detailed dailyreports. Ensures the development and execution of project automationplan, environmental compliance plan, safety plan, site survey plan,non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy,construction execution plan, and job-site work rules. Responsible for implementation of Clayco’s safety program,security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the constructionsite and ensures strict adherence to Federal and State safetycodes. Ensures the field organization is composed of qualified andknowledgeable personnel and ensures effective personnelutilization. Establishes and implements construction schedules, methods,manning charts, material, and equipment requirements. Responsible for field project performance and analyzesperformances for adherence to quality standards and schedules. Plans and establishes procedures to ensure all constructionoperations meet engineering designs and specifications. Ensures Clayco’s policies and procedures are fullyimplemented. Establishes project field procedures to be worked inconjunction with Clayco’s standards, as necessitated by projectconditions. Collaborates with the jobsite team to ensure labor harmonythroughout the project. Partners with the project management team to maintain effectiveclient relationship and is the primary contact for client’scommunication with the field activities. Maintains effective relationships with other functionaldepartments. Develops, implements, and administers a job-site security planand coordinates the activities with Clayco’s securitydepartment. Works with the project management team to participate in alljob-site’s contractual activities. Participates in contracts andsubcontracts negotiations. Participates in the development and implementation of atraining program to ensure subordinate personnel receivesprogressive training to enable them to assume additionalresponsibilities and is responsible for overall development ofconstruction training and any testing as required. Works with Clayco’s safety team in the development of theproject safety program and ensures strict adherence to Company,federal, state, and local safety regulations. Ensures the implementation of an effective community relationsplan for the site. Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to thestart of the affected work at site. Responsible and accountable for construction license reportingto include construction Logbook entries and required notificationsfor permit closure. Partners with the project management team for theimplementation of cost savings methodologies in the Constructionorganization and the promotion of other continuous improvementprocesses. Ensures development and execution of strategies and plans forproject automation, environmental compliance, safety, sitesurveying, non-manual staffing, contracting, labor strategy,construction execution, and job-site work rules. Plans and establishes procedures to ensure constructionoperations meet engineering designs and specifications. Coordinate with the Field Operations Manager for all assignmentof Superintendent and Foreman positions. Support Superintendent(s) throughout the duration of thejob. Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman. Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, orschedule, and provide to the project management team. Ensure subcontractor requests for field issues that impactbudget, quality, or schedule are documented and are forwarded tothe project management team. Follow guidelines of the Project Quality Assurance/QualityControl (QA/QC) program written for the jobsite.
Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering,Construction Management, related technical degree or relevant workexperience in lieu of education. 20-25 years of relevant experience, with progressiveresponsibility and technical knowledge both scope and value ofproject. Technical knowledge and experience of relevant constructionmethods and systems including: Utility relocates and slope stability works. Full understanding of multiple mission critical platforms. Full understanding and working knowledge of high voltage,medium voltage, and low voltage systems. General understanding ofBMS and EPMS Systems. Full understanding and coordination of Utility relocations,underground medium voltage systems, and BIM modeling coordinationof ALL utilities both above and below ground. Full understanding and managing of all LOTO procedures and FODinspections for all systems. Ability to research and understand local codes andjurisdictional requirements for the project. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliancerequirements. Experience with successful interface management on DataCenter/Mission Critical projects. OSHA 30 required. Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders, and multi-floorscaffolding. Ability to lift objects at least 50lbs.
