Direct Hire / Full Time Our client, a commercial construction firm, has an immediate need for a Superintendent in Charlotte NC. This is a full-time direct hire position. Multi-family construction experience is required.
Position Summary:
In this role you will be responsible for the overall direction of field operations, completion schedules, and labor budget outcome of the construction project, including any specialty department work. Safety is a core value, and our Superintendents are expected to promote and exemplify safe work practices. The Superintendent effectively directs and supervises all field team members and subcontractors on the jobsite to effectively bring the project to a successful and timely completion. Our Superintendents establish a positive and collaborative working relationship with members of the project team (Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Subcontractors).
Major Responsibilities:
Project Management Plan and schedule project, including short interval schedules Schedule manpower and develop a working budget based on the estimates and project schedule Control job progress by managing subcontractors, solving problems and conflicts, using proper documentation, quality control and safety control techniques on the job Control project costs by weekly evaluation of labor, material, and equipment costs, adjusting to ensure a fair profit while maximizing customer satisfaction foremost Demonstrate superior construction process knowledge Direct and drive self-perform trades when engaged on assigned project Ensure customer satisfaction by recognizing and meeting all the client’s needs Provide leadership through team building communications, proper motivation, confidence, good judgment and listening to others Manage, mentor and coach other Supervisors Self-initiate and motivate others Ensure that all parties understand the importance of safety to your project and educate those that need it
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, preferred 7 or more years of experience in a field supervision role 5+ completed projects, run independently Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Can present well in a client interview Multi-Family, Healthcare and/or Higher Ed markets, preferred
