Pinehurst, NC Description:
The Fiber Splicing Supervisor oversees the daily operations of splicing crews, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and according to technical specifications. This role involves managing personnel, inspecting work quality, coordinating with other departments, and troubleshooting technical issues in the field. This is also a hands-on position, and candidate will be required to splice, test, and troubleshoot as needed at the direction of the OSP Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of fiber splicing crews, including scheduling and resource allocation. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets industry standards and project specifications. Provide technical guidance on splicing methods, testing procedures, and documentation. Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies. Provide hands on troubleshooting of splicing and connectivity issues in both underground and aerial environments. Maintain accurate records of splicing activities, test results, and daily progress in Espeed and other systems as needed. Train and mentor new splicing technicians and ensure crew members stay current on best practices and safety protocols. Manage the activities of other OSP construction crews and provide daily documentation as directed by the OSP Construction Manager.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in fiber optics preferred. 3-5 years of experience in fiber splicing, including supervisory or leadership roles. Strong knowledge of OTDR, fusion splicing, and fiber testing procedures. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to interpret fiber schematics, construction drawings, and splice documentation. Proficient with splicing tools, testing equipment, and safety procedures. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed. Knowledge of Coaxial splicing is a plus
