Job brief We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee renovation projects within healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, construction methodologies and procedures (particularly in the healthcare sector) and the ability to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great leadership skills. This role requires a detail-oriented, organized professional who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring compliance with regulations, quality standards, and timeliness while staying within budget. Responsibilities Lead and manage renovation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and healthcare professionals to develop project plans and specifications that meet regulatory requirements and patient care standards. Conduct site assessments and develop risk management plans to ensure safety and compliance with healthcare regulations. Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries, quality workmanship, and adherence to project timelines. Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities as needed. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements. Monitor project progress, prepare detailed reports, and communicate updates to client and management. Manage project budgets, to include assisting with estimating costs. Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure projects meet the highest standards. Supervise the work of laborers, subcontractors, mechanics, etc., and give them guidance when needed. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues. Resolve any issues or conflicts arising during the construction process, ensuring minimal disruption to healthcare operations. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to healthcare renovations. Requirements and skills Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on healthcare renovations preferred. Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including OSHA standards and infection control protocols. OSHA 10 Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications. A team player with leadership abilities. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. BSc/BA in engineering, building science, Construction Management,or relevant field a plus. PMP or similar certification is a plus.
