The ideal candidate will enjoy training and supervising youth and adult volunteers to help low-income homeowners by making repairs and accessibility modifications to homes. Position requires people skills, compassion, and patience in addition to significant home rehabilitation experience.
Full time:
Monday – Friday and 1-2 Saturdays per month; time off during the week can be arranged to balance Saturdays. Reports to Director of Construction. Key Responsibilities Oversee and train adult and high school aged volunteers with various levels of construction/repair skills. Coordinate tool trailer or debris removal trailer if required for the project. Keep trailers organized. Be present during all scheduled work times as needed, address unforeseen construction issues that may come up (acquiring additional material, etc.) Ensure work scope is complete, project site is cleaned up, tools and unused materials returned. Complete documentation and paperwork related to purchase and use of building materials, mileage, progress on repair work, and volunteer involvement. Required Attributes Professional construction and repair skills Ability to give instruction to and teach unskilled volunteers Ability to manage volunteers with strong personalities and/or in high pressure situations Good written and strong verbal communication skills Ability to make a good first impression Patience, flexibility, adaptability, sense of humor Basic computer skills, Microsoft office, teams, salesforce Well organized Commitment to serving those in need Appreciation for diversity Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation 3+ years’ experience in construction field High School Diploma or GED Compensation and Benefits Extremely committed, talented, and welcoming co-workers; caring and results-driven leadership team.
