What You’ll Do in This Position Maintain overall authority and responsibility for the direction andcontrol of all Site Services operational activities and response toemergent Infrastructure needs site wide. This is consistent withthe facility SOM position in nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
Oversee all major evolutions undertaken by InfrastructureOperations and maintenance and all support personnel to ensure activities are safely conducted according to approvedprocedures and work execution documents. Serve as the senior Infrastructure and Site Services manager onsite duringnights, weekends and holidays.
- Provide management oversight of all infrastructure systems andpersonnel ensuring strict compliance with Memorandums ofUnderstanding (MOU) which defines the nuclear and environmentalrequirements that Site Services must meet for delivery ofcommodities to all SRS facilities and entities.
Directly manage dayto day operations and emergent activities for Power Operators,Multiskilled Technicians, Licensed Water and Waste Water Operators,and Fire System Operators.
- Responsible for meeting day-to-day needs of multiple customers(water, electricity and steam needs)
- Releasing the start of all maintenance, operations, construction,and test and surveillance that affect the facility or its equipment.
- Making timely, informative notifications when required byfacility events and procedures.
- Taking emergency actions as necessary prevent or mitigate theconsequences of an abnormal event and placing the facility in asafe, stable condition following the event.
- Providing clear, concise instructions and communications tooperators, peers, senior management, DOE and support personnel.
- Identifying housekeeping and facility material conditiondeficiencies to the appropriate team for corrective actions.
- Ensuring personnel for which they are responsible are trained,qualified and fit for duty to perform the assigned jobresponsibility.
- Implementation and application of Hazardous Energy Controlprocesses and procedures.
- Perform assessments including development of appropriatecorrective actions.
- Consistently promote participation in BBS process, performmanagement field observations (MFOs)
- Coordinate through Site Dispatcher, and SRSOC event calls foremergent facility infrastructure interruptions of service such aselectrical, steam, domestic water, firewater, sanitary service,process cooling water, service water, well water, river watersupply, and fire detection and suppression to include recoveryactions.
- Develop and execute facility Shift and Standing Orders.
- Ensure turnover and shift log implementation in accordance with2S Conduct of Operations.
Perform comprehensive shift turnovers toensure current understanding of plant configuration and ongoingactivities. Emergent Event Response Responsible for managing Maintenance, Rigging and Transportationsupervision responding to emergent events and recovery actionsensuring work is performed safely and per site procedures. Type of personnel managed and giving direction during eventsinclude First and Second Line Managers and Leads of eachfunction:
- Engineering
- Transportation
- Electrical Operations
- Excavation Personnel
- Rigging
- Maintenance
- Work Control
- Operations Support Center manager for all events or emergencyresponse. Performs Site Services Incident Scene coordinationproviding needs and feedback to OSC manager.
- Initial response manager for all Site Services systems whichinclude associated SCDHEC permit compliance actions
- Perform initial ORPS reporting for events for Site Servicesfacilities and events
- Perform initial survey and inspections for Roads, Dams, andBridges during emergent severe weather events and initiatesprocedures and response actions accordingly
- Work with facilities in A, F, H and K-Areas with SafetySignificant classified systems for entry and exiting LCO’s andperformance of compensatory measures ensuring Documented SafetyBasis requirements are met.
- Ensure actions are performed concurrent with facility Memorandumsof Understanding for commodity coordination, interruptions andimpairments.
- Provide first response for trouble and supervisory alarms thatare received on fire alarm panels for all non-nuclear buildingsacross the site.
Work with facility administrators and Fire SystemTesting personnel to determine source of problem and compensatorymeasures. Requires communication with SRSOC and the FireDepartment. Group will also respond to all fire related alarms aswell to assist the Fire Department as needed; failure to do socould require evacuation from these facilities. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test andbackground review that includes checks of personal references,credit, criminal records, and employment history, and educationverifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtainand maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requiresU.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background reviewresults, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxesmay impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
