Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 1108 Nowell Road, Raleigh, NC 27607 Job Summary We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Director of Pre-Construction and Estimating to lead our estimating department. In this role, you’ll oversee all pre-construction efforts including bid preparation, budgeting, and value engineering for commercial flooring projects. You’ll work closely with sales, project management, and operations to deliver competitive, profitable estimates that support company growth. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Lead the estimating team to prepare accurate, timely bids for commercial flooring projects Review architectural drawings, specifications, and bid documents Perform material take-offs, labor estimates, and pricing strategies Identify project risks and ensure proposals meet client requirements and margin goals Collaborate with sales and project managers to develop winning bid packages Manage vendor and subcontractor pricing and relationships Oversee bid submissions, pre-bid meetings, and negotiations Improve estimating processes, tools, and accuracy Support forecasting and backlog reporting for leadership ________________________________________ Qualifications 7+ years of estimating experience in commercial flooring or construction 3+ years in a leadership or management role Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., MeasureSquare, RFMS, PlanSwift, Bluebeam) Strong knowledge of carpet, LVT, sheet vinyl, rubber, tile, wood, and polished concrete systems Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and construction documents Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar credential OSHA 30 or LEED certification a plus ________________________________________ Benefits Competitive salary + performance bonus Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Company vehicle or car allowance ________________________________________ Apply today to be part of a growing company where your leadership drives results.
