Piping Superintendent (Utilities) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Piping Superintendent with underground piping experience to oversee the daily operations of piping and utilities projects. The ideal candidate will coordinate daily tasks, manage crew members and contractors, and ensure project schedules, laws, regulations, and safety standards are met. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to maintain project quality and resolve conflicts efficiently. The best candidates have utility construction and heavy civil experience. Responsibilities Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel. Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors. Recruit, hire, train, manage, and mentor employees and contractors. Provide adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs. Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures. Develop and manage project budgets and quality standards for all sites. Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably. Regularly report project status to supervisors, site engineers, and other officials. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of experience supervising the installation of pipe and culvert on heavy civil projects. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Excellent management and leadership skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Current OSHA 30 certification or greater is a plus. Experience specifically on utility projects is highly preferred. Work Environment This position requires on-site presence at project locations. The work environment involves overseeing utility construction and heavy civil projects , ensuring safety standards are met and project goals are achieved.
