Pay range: $125-160K base salary
(depending on experience), plus benefits & truck w/ gas card
NO travel required – all work local to cities listed above.
Ideal candidates have experience managing 3-5 self-perform utility crews, on turn-key heavy civil sitework projects in these markets:
Commercial/ Industrial building pads
Residential Developments (100+ acres)
Heavy Highway (new road construction, or NCDOT widening/improvements jobs)
Job Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of all field operations, management and direction of foreman and all field employees.
Manage 5+ utility crews, either on 2-3 different projects at once – or 1 large project
The position is to ensure that all resources of the Company are managed, and coordinated in an efficient, professional manner on all projects, to perform work within the budget and on or ahead of schedule.
Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near-misses to ensure adherence to company Safety standards
Manage and coordinate all field construction operations in conjunction with the General Superintendent for the utility division.
Plan and organize key field positions to accommodate the specific project requirements.
Monitor project objectives, company policies, procedures, and performance standards of all field personnel.
Monitor material and supply procurement/ management and distribution of equipment.
Monitor the distribution of all labor resource and maintain tool inventory.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with project owners, as well as all project partners – including suppliers, vendors, inspectors, subcontractors, etc.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in underground utility construction in a Superintendent position; sewer, water, and storm pipe installation projects
Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding company policies, procedures, and software programs.
Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.
Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
Team player and with strong interpersonal skills.
Self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of requirements of utility installations throughout the RDU region; ability to manage projects with difference scopes and specs of work, for pipe and earthwork projects, based on regulations per county
