Position Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and versatile Construction Field Technician with experience across multiple trades. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work in a variety of construction trades and is interested in growing into a supervisory or leadership role. You’ll be involved in key federal or state projects and gain exposure to all phases of the construction process, while being mentored by experienced foremen, superintendents and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform multi-trade construction tasks, including framing, drywall, finish carpentry, concrete, basic plumbing/electrical support, painting, and site maintenance Support field supervisors with day-to-day job site operations on federal construction projects Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites per federal project standards Load, unload, and stage materials Demonstrate leadership potential through initiative, professionalism, and reliability
Qualifications:
2+ years of general construction experience preferred, with exposure to various trades Experience working on federal or public works projects is a plus Strong work ethic, problem-solving ability, and eagerness to learn Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and job site protocols Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Must be able to pass background checks for federal job site access OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Valid CPR or willing to get certified Ability or willing to learn how to read blueprints, site plans, and specifications. Proficient with smartphones, laptops/tablets, and basic construction software tools.
