Non-exempt, Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
HOURLY RATE
$24.00 to $27.00 per hour SUMMARY Responsible for the overall operation of the Home Safe Home Program which provides a home safety assessment and installation of fall prevention equipment, such as grab bars, stair railings tub transfer benches, etc. for residents of Monroe, Livingston and Ontario Counties. The manager supervises the part-time assistants and volunteers assigned to the program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Recruit, supervise and train program staff and volunteers. 2. Provide home safety assessments per funding contracts; identify modifications needed and install equipment as needed. 3. Communicate client needs back to NY Connects for follow-up. 4. Monitor program budget. 5. Purchase supplies, complete purchase orders. 6. Maintain inventory of supplies to meet client needs. 7. Maintain program vehicle, routine maintenance, gas, tires, annual inspection, etc. 8. Complete monthly reporting for funders. 9. Participate in the writing of grants and proposals pertaining to the Safety and Security for Seniors Program. 10. Provide presentations on home safety to community groups in accordance with funding specifications. 11. Attend conferences and training sessions as appropriate. 12. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
Experience with home repair and modification. Experience working with older adults and volunteers.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires lifting objects up to 50 pounds.
- Working in challenging conditions both inside and outside of homes.
- Assembly skills required.
- Ability to drive agency vehicle.
- Ability to go up and down stairs.
- Ability to use hand tools.
- Excellent communication skills are required.
- Ability to maintain records accurately.
- Ability to maintain composure under difficult situations.
- Ability to work in multi-cultural situations.
