Position Summary The Assistant Field Supervisor supports the Field Supervisor in overseeing on-site staff and ensuring that cleaning, garbage removal, construction, and maintenance projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards. This role includes helping clean buildings when necessary and assisting with scheduling, inspections, and ensuring the overall quality and upkeep of properties. Highly preferred bilingual, English and Spanish speaking candidates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Field Supervisor will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures, and NYC, state, and federal laws (OSHA, ADA, and Fair Housing). Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support the supervision of Porters at assigned locations. Assist in setting schedules and overseeing the timely pick-up of garbage. Help clean buildings and common areas when needed to maintain standards. Assist with scheduling and tracking work orders in RealPage. Support oversight of mold abatement and repairs, particularly during the first 60 days of new property management. Monitor construction activity to ensure compliance with location and safety protocols, including keeping hallways and basements clear. Be present at tenant evictions as required. Work with the Inventory Manager to help maintain adequate supplies for compliance and repairs. Assist with staff assignments for HQS, Section 8, and HPD repair tasks. Perform daily walkthroughs of properties to ensure safety, cleanliness, and security. Help coordinate Porter schedules, especially for garbage collection and building readiness. Maintain effective communication with tenants, vendors, city agencies, and community stakeholders. Complete necessary documentation and reports related to assigned duties. Identify and report any risks or issues to the Field Supervisor or management team. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Bilingual Spanish Preferred Prior experience in residential property maintenance or building operations preferred. Experience working with NYC Housing Authority properties, renovation projects, or property management software (such as RealPage) is a plus. Some supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Reliable and responsive to urgent needs on-site. Able to multi-task Able to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisor Able to read and interpret documents such as procedures, work instructions Able to write required reports Able to work 40 hours; weekly schedule may change as required Physical Demands and Work Environment Able to operate equipment, machinery and tools (wrenches, hammer, broom, snips, hand trucks, step ladders, blowers, shovels, etc…) Constantly required to be on feet/standing Regularly required to communicate with staff, visitors and residents. Frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently required to walk; sit; balance; crouch; push and pull objects; bend; and reach with hands and arms. Climb ladders and stairs. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; and occasionally lift/carry up to 100 pound (heavier lifts will normally be made with the assistance of a co-worker). Close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment includes climatic exposure to heat and cold (outside work), noise, vibration, heights, enclosed spaces, cleaning agents, dust and other household irritants.
