Summary We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team at The McKissack Group, Inc. In this role, you will oversee construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Job Title:
Project Manager McKissack is seeking an experienced Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Lead overall project management of a design-build project to ensure successful completion and delivery in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
- Work closely with the construction contractor to develop efficient and cost-effective plans for project implementation
- Administer agreements, monitor contract performance, and review project schedules, payments, and budget projections
- Maintain proper reporting and records management covering contracts, drawings, correspondence, progress reports, as well as oversight of permits and regulatory compliance requirements
- Review and /or approve contractor requests for change orders and manage budgets and financial reporting by tracking progress of payments and invoicing
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved on the project(s), maintaining good working relationships and close interface with client, subcontractor, and team members
- Engage with the construction contractor’s work force as appropriate to implement the work
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with project specifications
- Foster a culture of safety and promote safety protocols particularly as it relates to contractor work activities
- This position requires to be onsite leading a project team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction projects of various complexity, including at least 7 years in a leadership capacity
- Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale high rise construction projects
- Proven written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Solid proficiency in construction management software and project management tools
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team player
- Experience in leading complex construction projects in traditional and design-build project delivery methods
- Experience working with New York City public agencies
- Solid interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities and capacity to build and maintain relationships
- Effective leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve challenges and generate effective solutions
