Position Summary:
The After-School Program Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all children. This role includes managing staff, coordinating activities, communicating with families, and maintaining a positive and organized program space.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily activities and transitions to ensure safety, structure, and engagement. Lead and support after-school staff, including scheduling, delegation, and on-site training. Create and implement age-appropriate activities that promote creativity, physical activity, and social development. Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and program documentation. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and licensing regulations. Communicate professionally with parents regarding children’s experiences, behavior, and any concerns. Address behavioral or safety issues with calm, proactive, and appropriate strategies. Collaborate with the program director on curriculum planning, supplies, and staffing needs. Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for children and staff.
Qualifications:
Experience working with children in a group setting (e.g., camp, school, child care, recreation). Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain calm, responsible, and organized in a fast-paced environment. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in education or child development preferred.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, afternoon hours (specific hours based on school dismissal and program needs)
Compensation:
Hourly wage based on experience Expected Start date August 11 to 18th, 2025
